"Loire Valley heading for earliest ever harvest" ...

Winemakers in the Loire Valley are heading for a bumper harvest and one of the earliest ever recorded.

The year’s weather patterns are pointing towards a record-breaking vintage, with accelerated ripening, dry conditions and higher than average temperatures.

A spokesman for Vins de Loire said: Conditions during flowering were excellent; this started in the Muscadet area on May 15 and towards the end of May in the Touraine, a good three weeks earlier than average.

Stormy spells in June were accompanied by rainfall the perfect amount, in fact, to promote good fruit set. At this stage of veraison we are very optimistic about the condition of the vines and the health of the fruit itself. .Read more from the source.. .

"Fanatastic, Awesomeness Pork Green Chile Stew" Laura High

Ingredients:

Pork Stock Ingredients
*3–4 pound pork shoulder
*1 tablespoon cooking oil
*2 yellow onions, quartered
*3 cloves garlic, smashed
*1 tablespoon ground cumin
*2 bay leaves
*2 teaspoons dried Mexican oregano
*1 teaspoon salt
*1 teaspoon black peppercorns
*1/2 teaspoon cayenne
*1 teaspoon chili powder

Method
Place oil in pressure cooker on medium high heat. When the oil begins to ripple add pork butt searing on all sides. Add remaining ingredients, cover pork with water and put lid on pressure cooker. Cook under pressure for 40 minutes (time starts when cooker comes up to pressure and top starts to rock). After 40 minutes remove from heat and allow pressure to come down naturally...
